My name is Grace Evans, and I am the Operations Chair for DanceBlue 2023!

DanceBlue has been a part of my life for more than eight years. It is not just an organization but a community of people that hold a special place in my heart. Pediatric cancer is a term that my hometown is all too familiar with. DanceBlue is a way for me to honor the loved ones I have lost and those that are currently fighting a battle that no child should ever have to face. This organization is a friendly face to these kiddos that deserve the world and more. It provides beads of courage for every treatment a child goes through, gas and meal cards for the families, hotel stays, specialists that aid in providing the child with the best possible experience, and so much more. From helping organize three high school mini marathons, serving on the Operations Committee, being the Volunteer Coordinator, to now ending my college career on the chair team, I will forever support this cause in some capacity.

This year, I have the amazing opportunity to serve as the Operations Chair. Currently, my committee is working to make the upcoming 5K a success for the kids. The 2022 DB5K: ‘Color Me Blue’ Run/Walk registration is open and will continue to stay open until the start of the race! This year’s 5K will start at the South Lawn on campus behind the 90. It will be held this Saturday, November 5th at 2pm.
