Today was a very special day! In the lobby of the Kentucky Children’s Hospital, the DanceBlue Hematology/Oncology Clinic was given a check for $100,000 from Hyundai’s Hope on Wheels Program. Given to 25 hospitals across the United States, the Impact Awards are used for programmatic support for the selected institution’s pediatric oncology department. This grant may also be used to support direct patient assistance programs, such as enrichment programs, family on-site support, educational initiatives, or other efforts to improve care and try to find a cure for kids fighting cancer.

Presented to Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Chief John D’Orazio, MD, PhD, Hyundai’s Impact Award will go towards our Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Oncology Program in the DanceBlue Clinic. More specifically, this award will directly fund a backpack orientation program for new patients, an AYA educational series, and updates to existing clinic exam rooms for AYA patients.

Thanks to the hard work of DanceBlue 2019 Overall Chair Tyler Ward, DanceBlue 2019 Corporate Chair Riley Grant, Associate Vice President of Philanthropy Susannah Denomme, and Director of Foundation & Corporate Philanthropy Jessica Koenigsknecht-Talboo, Hyundai’s Hope on Wheels Impact Grant will go towards the same cause that DanceBlue spends all year raising money and advocating for.

We are excited to welcome Hyundai Hope on Wheels and local Hyundai Lexington dealers to the DanceBlue family as we set out on another year all For The Kids!
