Meet the Families - Coming Soon
We are so excited that you are interested in the DanceBlue Adopt-A-Family Program. We are aware that many changes have begun to occur in your life, and we are so thankful that you are willing to give us the opportunity to provide your family with some additional support. In order to do this to our best of our ability, the Family Relations Committee would like to invite you to become a Golden Matrix Family and participate in one of the most rewarding aspects of DanceBlue. Our mission is to serve the emotional needs of your family by making you aware of the resources available within the UK community, and to establish lasting relationships with the numerous students involved in DanceBlue.
The Family Relations Committee oversees the direction of the Adopt-A-Family Program. This gives teams, comprised of students and organizations on UK's campus, the opportunity to sponsor a Golden Matrix Family. These Adopt-A-Family partnerships are created with the intention to build relationships between the students and families. Additionally, each family involved is represented by the team's student dancers during the annual dance marathon in the spring.
We believe the Adopt-A-Family Program and focusing on the families and patients is the most important aspect of DanceBlue. It is through the direct contact with your children that we can make an impact on their lives and remember the lives we hope to enhance through our mission. Through your participation, we hope to bring numerous fun memories to your child's life. In past Adopt-A-Family partnerships we have seen the lasting impact on UK students and Golden Matrix families from establishing these relationships. We hope that your family will soon join this wonderful experience.

It is the mission of the University of Kentucky Dance Marathon, DanceBlue, to create a multi-faceted organization that operates through the support and leadership of the UK students, faculty, staff, administrators, and the Lexington community. The organization enhances the lives of children and families suffering from childhood cancer through the Golden Matrix Fund, and therefore serves the Bluegrass by assisting those treated at the University of Kentucky Pediatric Oncology Clinic.
