IT'S FINALLY HERE! After a year of fundraising and a day of dancing, we will finally see how much our hard work has paid off. No matter what the number is- our dancers and teams should be proud of how hard they've worked all year. Here's to anther year of FTK!
This hour is a time to celebrate. Celebrate life. Celebrate a cure. Celebrate friendship. Celebrate Love. But most of all we celebrate the lives of the kids we dance for. All the children that we have encountered throughout our seven years of DanceBlue have helped mold this 24 hours into the marathon it is today. We want to remember those we have lost, but celebrate the lives that they lived. We want to thank all of those who have touched our hearts and remind us why we truly DanceBlue. Always and forever FTK!
This hour is all about the Kids! This is their opportunity to show off their mad skills at the DanceBlue talent show. The kids love to get on stage, sing, dance and strut their stuff. Come see the kids dress up as their favorite Disney characters and live a dream come true! FTK!
ATTENTION ALL CHOCOLATE LOVERS, WIlly Wonka has given DanceBlue their very own Golden Ticket! Taking a tour accross Candy Land. From Candy Cane Forest to Gum Drop Path, the dancers are working their way to a sweet victory. The sugar is hyping everyone and even the kids are getting into it. It's all fun and games around here until a DanceBluer steps into the Molasses Swamp! Watch your step and keep on dancing! FTK!
U-S-A... U-S-A! This hour is paying tribute to the great nation we "Dance" in! From a little red white and blue to Top Gun and friends, this hour is packed with patriotic pride. We are signing the National Anthem, lead by UK's own AcoustiCats, and playing two fun filled AMERICA Games! Come out to Memorial and help show American spirit for the dancers. We hope to see you and all your "Stars and Stripes"! FTK!
Let's take a little trip outside of Memorial and down to the Grand Ol' Opry! The dancers are more fired up than every because its their chance to get down and country. This hours is filled with more than just country music, special guest such as Sundy Best and other special guest are making this hour a Grand Ol' Time! Families are starting to arrive and the crowd is going strong. Hour seven is going strong and we keep on dancing! Come see us in Memorial! FTK!
¡Para los niños! (For The Kids!) DanceBlue 2012 becomes Latin-infused in its sixth hour with some ZUMBA, the international dance craze that has found its way into the marathon. This may mean a little push for the dancers right upon that halfway point, as the rhythms and steps can be a bit difficult for some to catch onto. Nevertheless, the red-hot music seems to be a hit with the crowd in the blue and yellow...another hour has begun in Memorial FTK!
Step right up, and get your ticket to the one and only DanceBlue Carnival. Student organizations have teamed up with DanceBlue to bring the Carnival to Memorial. Come and enjoy and hour filled with face painting, ring toss, pie in the face and much more. This has been a great opportunity for DanceBlue to team up with other organizations and make this the greatest "Dance" on earth! Also, don't miss Family Feud. This hour gives dancers a chance to "battle" it out. FTK!
PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR, and prepare yourself for the DB Rave! The lights are out and everyone is getting crazy in Memorial! Thanks to Student Government all the dancers are "Raving" about their new neon glasses and t-shirts. This hour is a chance for everyone to let loose, eat, and re-charge to the beat of Techno Jams! Stop by and get your Rave on with DanceBlue. Day or night, nothing is going to stop these dancers from Raving on!
...and they're off! It's the third hour of DanceBlue 2012 and the dancers are bringing it back to the good ole state of Kentucky with the Derby hour. With the determination of Secretariat and the energy of Big Brown, the dancers are galloping through the morning. The famous "run for the roses" has been quickly adapted to fit into this incredible fundraising event of the Bluegrass. FTK!
